Frequently Asked Questions about Surveys

Common questions about creating and sharing surveys.

Last updated April 2026

Can respondents see each other's answers?

By default, responses are only visible to you as the survey creator. However, you can configure a survey to show results to respondents after they submit their answers. This is useful for team polls or non-sensitive topics where transparency is welcome. The setting is off by default to encourage honest feedback on sensitive surveys.

Can I edit a survey after sharing it?

You can edit survey details and add questions before responses start coming in. Once responses have been submitted, editing questions is restricted to avoid invalidating existing data. You can still update the title and description.

How do I make a survey anonymous?

Surveys shared via a public link are anonymous by default, as respondents do not need to sign in. This means responses cannot be traced back to specific individuals.

Is there a limit to the number of questions?

There is no hard limit on question count. However, shorter surveys tend to get better response rates. See Improving Survey Response Rates for practical tips.

Can I reopen a completed survey?

Yes. You can reopen a closed survey to collect additional responses. Any existing responses are preserved and new ones will be added to the results.

How do I password-protect a survey?

When setting up your survey, you can enable password protection and set a custom password. Respondents will need to enter this password before they can submit their answers. See Sharing and Responses for the full setup process.
