Linking Google Calendar events is a Pro feature. You will need an active Pro subscription and a connected Google Calendar.

Once you have connected your Google Calendar (see Google Calendar Sync), you can link calendar events directly to catchups, meetings, and retrospectives in Manager Toolkit. This creates a clear connection between what was scheduled and what was recorded.

Smart Matching

Manager Toolkit can automatically suggest links between Google Calendar events and your management activity. When you create a new catchup or meeting, the app checks your calendar for events on the same date that match the team member or meeting title. If a likely match is found, you will see a suggestion to link it.

Manually Linking an Event

Open the Calendar view in Manager Toolkit.
Find the Google Calendar event you want to link. Google events are displayed alongside your Manager Toolkit activity.
Click on the event to open its details.
Use the Link to option to connect it to an existing catchup, meeting, or retrospective. You can also create a new item directly from here.

Unlinking an Event

If an event was linked incorrectly, you can remove the link at any time. Open the linked item and click the Unlink option next to the calendar event reference. This removes the connection without deleting either the event or the management record.

What Linked Events Show

When an event is linked to a catchup or meeting, you will see:

  • The event title and time displayed on the catchup or meeting detail view
  • A quick link to open the event in Google Calendar
  • The event appearing as a connected item on the Calendar view
Linking calendar events works especially well for recurring one-to-ones. Each week, the smart matching picks up the recurring event and suggests linking it to a new catchup, saving you a manual step.
Manager Toolkit reads your calendar data but does not modify your Google Calendar events. Linking is one-directional - it adds a reference in Manager Toolkit only.
