Sharing to Slack

How to share retro outcomes and survey links via Slack.

Last updated April 2026

Manager Toolkit makes it easy to share retrospective outcomes and survey links with your team via Slack. There is no integration to configure - sharing works by generating formatted messages you can paste directly into any Slack channel.

Sharing Retrospective Outcomes

After completing a retrospective, you can share a summary of the outcomes with your team.

Open the completed retrospective.
Click the Share button on the retro page.
Select the Copy for Slack option.
Paste the copied message into your Slack channel.

The generated message includes bold headers, bullet points for each column, and any actions that were created during the session. It is formatted using Slack's markdown so it displays cleanly.

When your survey is live, you can share the participation link via Slack.

Open your survey and navigate to the Share tab.
Copy the survey link.
Paste it into your Slack channel with an optional message inviting your team to respond.
If your survey is password-protected, remember to share the password separately or include it in your Slack message so participants can access the survey.

Slack Message Formatting

Messages generated by Manager Toolkit use Slack-compatible formatting, including bold text for section headers and bullet points for individual items. This means the output looks clean and professional without any manual formatting on your part.

The formatting is designed to work in both Slack channels and direct messages. If you paste the content into a different messaging tool that supports markdown, the formatting will still display correctly in most cases. For tools that do not support markdown, the plain text remains readable.
