Logging Your First Catchup

A step-by-step guide to recording your first one-to-one catchup.

Last updated April 2026

Catchups are at the heart of Manager Toolkit. They help you build a clear, searchable record of your one-to-one conversations. Here is how to log your first one.

Open the sidebar and click on Catchups. You will see a list of your team members. If you have not added anyone yet, head to Setting Up Your Team first.
Click on the team member you had a conversation with. This opens their catchup history, where you can see past conversations and create a new one.
Click New Catchup to start recording. Fill in the key details: the date of the conversation, a sentiment rating indicating how it went, and discussion notes summarising what you talked about.
If there are things to do after the conversation, create actions directly from the catchup. These will appear in your Actions list and will be linked back to this catchup for context.
Once you are happy with the record, save the catchup. It will appear in the team member's history and on your dashboard.
Write notes that will make sense to you in three months, not just today. Use sentiment tracking honestly, create actions for anything you committed to, and focus on decisions, concerns, and commitments rather than recording every detail.

Pro users can access AI-generated suggestions during catchups, which can prompt useful discussion topics based on past conversations and outstanding actions.
