Target Comments and Updates

Document progress with comments and keep stakeholders informed.

Last updated April 2026

Comments on targets let you document progress, share updates, and keep a running log of decisions and milestones. Rather than relying on memory or separate notes, everything stays attached to the target itself.

Adding a Comment

Navigate to Targets and open the target you want to update.
Scroll to the Comments section at the bottom of the target detail view.
Type your update in the comment box. This could be a progress note, a blocker, a decision, or any relevant information.
Click Add Comment to save it. The comment appears with a timestamp in the target's history.

Viewing Comment History

All comments are displayed in chronological order on the target detail page. This gives you a clear timeline of how the target has progressed, what decisions were made along the way, and any obstacles that were encountered.

The comment history is especially useful during catchups and reviews. When discussing a target with a team member, you can quickly scroll through the updates to see what has happened since the last conversation.

What to Include in Comments

Good target comments are concise and specific. Here are some examples of useful updates:

  • "Completed the first two success criteria. Remaining item depends on the design review next week."
  • "Pushed the deadline back by one week due to competing priorities. Discussed with the team."
  • "All criteria met. Moving to complete status after final sign-off."
Add a comment whenever a target's status changes. This creates a clear audit trail and saves time when you need to explain progress during team reviews or leadership updates.

Comments and Catchups

When you discuss a target during a catchup, consider adding a comment to the target summarising what was agreed. This links the conversation outcome directly to the goal, making it easy to follow up next time.

Comments are visible to you as the target owner. If you share target progress with your team, comments provide the context behind any status changes.
