Completing a Review

How to mark a Performance Review as completed and what changes when you do.

Last updated April 2026

When you've finished writing the review and the conversation has happened, change the status to Completed.

How to complete

In the page header on the Performance Review detail page, click the status dropdown (next to the title) and pick Completed.
You'll be prompted to schedule the next review as a Reminder. Pick a date or skip.

What happens

  • The completion date is recorded on the review.
  • A "Completed review" event is added to the Calendar and to the Timeline.
  • The review still appears in the Performance Reviews list, but in the Completed status section.
  • A "Review completed" lifecycle bubble lands on the Timeline at the moment of completion.

Reverting

If you change your mind, you can move a Completed review back to In Progress or Draft. The completion date and the Calendar event are removed automatically, and a "Review reopened" or "Review reverted to draft" bubble lands on the Timeline.

What completion does NOT do

  • It doesn't lock the review, you can still edit it.
  • It doesn't snapshot the timeline. The timeline stays live, so target progress that changes after completion will be reflected.
  • It doesn't share the review with the team member. Reviews are scoped to the manager.
