Importing a Meeting Transcript
Paste a meeting transcript or AI-generated summary and let AI extract a structured summary and follow-up actions for your meeting notes.
How It Works
Open a meeting note and find the Notes section. Click the transcript icon (document icon) in the top-right corner of the notes editor.
In the modal that appears, paste your transcript. This can be a raw meeting transcript, a recording summary from a tool like Otter.ai or Microsoft Teams, or an AI-generated summary.
Click Import. AI will extract a structured summary organised into Key Topics, Decisions, and Notes sections. Any follow-up actions mentioned in the transcript are automatically added to the Actions tab.
The summary is appended to your existing notes and actions appear as pending follow-ups. Review and edit as needed before saving.
What Gets Extracted
Summary - organised into sections:
- Key Topics - the main subjects discussed
- Decisions - any decisions made during the meeting
- Notes - additional context and details
Actions - follow-up tasks identified from the transcript:
- Tasks, to-dos, and next steps
- Commitments and deadlines mentioned
- Anything someone said they would do
For best results, paste transcripts that clearly mention next steps or action items. The AI looks for phrases like "will do", "needs to", "by Friday", and similar commitment language.
