This guide walks you through recording a one-to-one catchup from start to finish.
Starting a New Catchup
Filling In the Details
A catchup form has several sections:
- Date - when the conversation took place
- Sentiment - a rating that captures the overall tone of the discussion (see the Sentiment Tracking guide for more on this)
- Discussion notes - a free-text area where you record what was talked about (see the Discussion Notes guide for tips on structuring these)
- Actions - follow-up tasks that came out of the conversation
You do not need to fill in every field. A catchup with just a date, a sentiment, and a few bullet points is still valuable.
Adding Follow-Up Actions
If the conversation produced any commitments or to-do items, you can create actions directly from the catchup form. These actions are automatically linked to the catchup, which means you can always trace back to the original conversation where the commitment was made.
To add an action, type a clear title in the Actions tab's input field and click Add. You can edit it later to set a priority, notes, deadline, and more.
Saving and Reviewing
Once you are satisfied, save the catchup. It will appear in the team member's catchup history, sorted by date. You can edit a catchup later if you need to add details or correct something.
