Some actions are too large to track as a single task. Subtasks let you break an action into smaller, concrete steps so you can track progress without losing sight of the bigger picture.
Adding Subtasks
Completing Subtasks
Tick off each subtask as you finish it. The action shows a progress indicator based on how many subtasks are complete. When all subtasks are done, you can mark the parent action as complete.
Subtasks are checked off individually, so you get a clear view of what remains even if the overall action is still in progress.
When to Use Subtasks
Subtasks work best for actions that involve multiple distinct steps. For example, "Prepare Q3 budget proposal" might break down into gathering departmental figures, drafting the document, and getting sign-off.
If a task is straightforward and does not need breaking down, keep it as a single action. Over-splitting simple tasks adds clutter without adding clarity.
